Wonders of Fan Brush
Watercolor Painting by Andrea Mae Antonio |
Have you ever tried painting with a fan brush? Isn't it amazing that it has many adorable uses? Fan brush is a thin layer of bristles spread out in the shape of a fan. It is commonly used for blending. The first time I saw a fan brush, I literally have no idea how to use it. When I watched some videos and saw how painters used fan brushes, I bought one immediately. It is now my favorite paintbrush. And I think it is a must-have for every artist (especially for me because I do landscape painting more often).
Now, I will show you the wonders of fan brush. Enjoy!

Artsy February
Cherry Blossoms Watercolor |
February, you have been the most creative month for me... YET! I still can't believe that I was able to launch my own blog. Putting up this page was the last possible thing I thought I can do. Thanks to my family and friends who encouraged me to fulfill my little dream. This month, I was so inspired so I was able to make a lot of artworks.
Here are some of them...

I create art (just) because I want to express my own thoughts and feelings. That's it. Some of my friends told me before that I can actually sell my artworks but I hesitated. "Who would buy my paintings?"; "There are lot of artists that are better than me."... those were the thoughts I had in my mind. Sadly, I didn't believe in myself. Then one day, my grandmother told me the same thing and finally I had the guts to try selling them. And for this month's highlight, I sold two (2) paintings (photos below)!
"Milky Way" Acrylic on Canvas (18" x 24") |
"Shadows of Love" Acrylic on Canvas (18" x 22") ART FOR SALE |
"Waterfalls" Acrylic on Canvas (20" x 30") |
I don't know that I have the capabilities to do these things. I always compare myself to others that's why sometimes I feel so weak. But today, I've learned that I should always believe in myself. Therefore, I will turn my can'ts into cans and dreams into plans. Infuse your life with action. Don't wait for it to happen. MAKE IT HAPPEN. :) (More artworks coming soon...) |
